Why a TON Wallet Is Required
REP is minted as a soulbound token on the TON blockchain. To receive and hold your REP token, you need a TON-compatible wallet. Without a connected wallet, your REP exists only as an off-chain score — it is not anchored to TON and cannot be used for on-chain verification.
Connecting a wallet is required to:
- Mint your REP soulbound token
- Participate in on-chain governance signals
- Access features that verify REP against on-chain data

TON Connect–compatible wallets are supported. If your wallet supports TON Connect, it will work with Repute AI.
Step-by-Step
Step 1: Install a TON Wallet
Download Tonkeeper (recommended) from the App Store or Google Play, or install OpenMask from your browser’s extension store.
Create a new wallet and securely store your seed phrase. Never share your seed phrase with anyone, including Repute AI.
Step 2: Connect via TON Connect
Inside the Repute AI Mini App, tap the Connect Wallet button in the top navigation or on the wallet connection screen.
The TON Connect interface will appear, showing compatible wallets detected on your device. Select your wallet and approve the connection.
TON Connect requests only your wallet address — it does not request signing permissions for arbitrary transactions.
Step 3: REP Soulbound Token Minting
Once your wallet is connected and your Repute identity is established:
- The protocol computes your initial REP score based on any verified public channel activity
- A soulbound token transaction is prepared
- You will be prompted to approve the minting transaction (a minimal TON fee applies)
- The soulbound token is minted to your wallet address
Your REP is now on-chain. It will update as your score changes — the token metadata is refreshed without requiring a new mint transaction.
Soulbound Warning
The REP soulbound token is permanently bound to the wallet address at time of minting. It cannot be transferred to another wallet under any circumstances.
If you lose access to your connected wallet, your REP token cannot be recovered to a new wallet. Choose a wallet you have long-term, secure access to.
What Permissions Are Requested
Repute AI via TON Connect requests only:
- Your wallet’s public address (to mint the soulbound token)
It does not request:
- Signing of arbitrary transactions
- Access to your private key
- Permissions beyond address reading
You will be explicitly prompted to approve any transaction (such as the minting fee). No transaction is submitted without your approval.
